my Virginia State still says pending

I received notice that my Federal tax refund was accepted. However, the State refund still says pending. Is this unusual? I am in Virginia.

    The various states have their own schedules and procedures for pulling state income tax returns from the servers.  So having the state return still pending after the federal return was accepted is not unusual.
