NE Sched. 1 Line 26 in adjusting income says to deduct SS included in federal AGI, why didn't turbotax include this, and it won't let me manually insert it.

Never mind. - I see if line 5 on state 1040  (line 8b on federal 1040) is over certain amount, no deduction allowed.  I took it as line 5 on federal 1040

According to this reliable tax source,  Social Security income is only deducted if the amount:

    1. On line 20b, federal Form 1040 or if line 5, Form 1040N is $58,000 or less MFJ or $43,000 or less for all other filing statuses.  Line 26 of Schedule I is a calculated entry that can't be changed. Move past this to see if you can file your return.
