Needing to amend Michigan 2023 Tax Return

Hello,

Recently e-filed (via Turbotax) both Federal and Michigan Tax returns for 2023.  Happily, both were accepted and the appropriate refunds issued.  However, because of confusion on my part(I guess anyway) I may be entitled to an additional refund from Michigan due to Public Act 4 of 2023 which deals with Retirement State tax changes.  This law was signed in 2023 but did not take effect until 2024 (the exact date seems to change according to the source).

Believing that I am eligible to take advantage of this law, I cannot see that Turbotax addressed this issue as it did not seem to take into account retirement distributions from 2023 for which a 1099-R was created. My expectation was to have a $ figure entered on line 27 of Schedule 1 (Additions and Subtractions).

Am I missing/overlooking something??

Thank you.

MI has a very convoluted system and the program should have used your correct birth date information. It is always a good idea to check and be sure that you received all benefits.
