Question

New Jersey does not withhold taxes for third party sick pay. They withheld for 1 month. The employer was called but says they cannot do anything about this.

Do you have a specific question as it relates to your tax return?  If so, please comment so we can assist you.

If your concern is having a state tax liability for your sick pay if it was taxable, unfortunately, the only thing you can do at this point is file your state tax return and pay any taxes due since nothing was really withheld for state income taxes when the money was paid to you.

Please see the link below to help you determine if your sick pay is taxable or not.  If the policy was paid by your employer, it would be taxable.

Is third party sick pay taxable
