New York state employment tax for Florida resident who worked part time in New York

I am a Florida resident and summer in New Youk for five or so months and worked on a movie as an extra and made 2100 and the company took out New York state tax can I get that back

    The only way to claim a refund (if you are due one) is to file a non-resident NY tax return.

    NY taxes all NY sourced income. See NY Nonresident & Part-Year Resident page 5. However, because you made less than $8,000, you are not required to file a NY return. If you want to file a NY return for a possible refund, you can.
