New York State Return

My residence is Florida.  Three months last year I was a travel nurse in Bronx, NY (non-resident).  Your tax program appears to count income from Florida and New York to calculate NY State Tax due.  Is this correct?

New York taxes all your income no matter where earned. However, they then reduce the tax based on the percentage of income earned outside of New York. So, while you will see your total income reported on the New York return and a tax assessed on that income, the tax is discounted so you are actually not being taxed on income earned outside of New York typically.
