new york state tax

I am a new york state retiree.

Turbotax keeps telling me my pension is taxable and and I owe $1700 plus.???

I owe nothing.

I looked at my previous turbotax returns and it shows I am exempt from state taxes.

Make sure when you entered your 1099-R into your Federal Return, you indicated that it was a New York State Pension.
