Question

NJ Tax Tax Return States no income

I’ve finished my federal taxes and started on my NJ State return.

I was on unemployment in 2020.  So my 1099G has income and taxes withheld.

But when it transferred over to the state return, it says I have no income and will not let me change it.

Any ideas on what the issue is?

NJ does not tax unemployment benefits so it will not be on your NJ return.  The taxes withheld are for federal taxes only.  If that was your only income, then zero is correct on your NJ return.
