My parents have been filing taxes through turbotax for years. My mother does not have a state id or a drivers license, so she uses her residence card. However, I am filing taxes for them on turbotax this year and I have been promoted to enter her state id/ drivers license as part of NY state return. There is not option for residence card. Do I just select “ do not have either a license or state id”? If so, what will be the consequence of that?
