Non Resident Tax Form

I did my federal and completed my state. I was considering buying another state to file for Hawaii for taxes with held on sale of property as a non resident/part time resident, but saw a posting where the non resident state should be completed before my state return. Is there a remedy to undo or suspend the state as a draft while I examine my options with HI on additional state form?

Yes, you can delete the state return and then start over. That is the best way to handle it.

The reason to do the non-resident state first is that if you pay taxes to the non-resident state your resident state will usually give you credit for that amount.
