If you're a W-2 employee for a Virginia company, your income is considered 'Virginia Source income' and you would file a Non-Resident State Return to report your income/tax paid there.

If you also file a Resident State Return for the state you reside in, you'll get a credit for the income reported to VA, so you're not double-taxed.

If you're Self-Employed though, your income is considered to be earned at your home address.  If this applies, and you received a 1099-NEC or a 1099-Misc to report the income, enter it in the Business Income section of TurboTax, along with any expenses related to that income (% of cell phone, internet costs, for example).
