NR return - NY resident, worked in CT. Working on CT State taxes, the program is not allowing me to take credit for the $419.83 I paid to CT on wages earned in CT. Why?

CT state wages were aprox. 6200, CT state income tax with held aprox 420.

No line entry in CT state program purchased to enter the 420 as a credit against the wages, shows amount due to CT for wages without an offsetting credit.

You need to prepare the nonresident return first.

A nonresident's income derived from Connecticut sources is subject to Connecticut income tax. You are required to pay tax on the $6200 of Connecticut income. You may get a refund if you paid too much.

You will get a credit in the New York resident return for the Connecticut taxes paid---around $300. This will happen automatically if you complete the nonresident form first.
