Hi,

I run a business in NJ, and there are employees who are NY residents.

I am planning to open NY SIT account for them, so that they can directly withhold tax to NY.

If I withhold NY tax for them from the first place, do they still have obligation of NJ withholding?

I am not sure how will it work.

Please advise.

NJ requires that NJ employers withhold NJ income tax from all nonresident employees working within NJ.
