On my current taxes how do I change from working multi state locations to single state locations?

Yes, when you file your personal 1040 tax return, you indicate the states where you earned income in the Personal Info section of the tax return. If you need to change the information that was carried over from the prior year, here's how to to that:

 

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. Select My Info, or Personal Info.
  3. Select the down arrow to the right of your name.
  4. Select Edit, then Continue.
  5. You can select, or change the information about where you lived and which states you worked in here. 

 

Later, when you get to the State Returns section, you can delete any states you no longer need to file.
