Question

Oregon SE tax deduction

During the Check This Entry process in Turbotax Oregon state review, Turbotax says (for line 24):

Form 40N: OR SE tax deduction deductible by Oregon should be entered since there is a self-employment tax amount in the federal column. If none of the self-employment tax in the federal column is deductible by Oregon, enter a zero in the Oregon column.

Given that I rely on Turbotax to tell me what is/isn't deductible by a process of questions, I am unsure what to put in here?

If you were filing an OR resident return (form 40), TurboTax would fill in the amount.  But since you are filing a non resident return (form 40N), you have to tell it how much of the deduction is allocable to OR .   If all you self employment was in OR,  then  the whole amount  (from line 24F) goes in the OR column (line 24S).
