PA resident working remotely for CA health system

Hello,

I started a new job for a health system in California in December 2021. I am a PA resident and work 100% remote from my home, with no travel to CA. I was under the impression that I still needed to file a CA state return, but I am having trouble confirming this. Since I started in December, my income from this job is obviously very low for 2021 (~2k). On my W2 from my employer, they correctly have PA listed as my state and my hometown PSD code for locality name. Since my W2 has the correct state and locality, do I still need to file anything for CA? Thank you.

No.  If you are an employee of a California based company but telecommute from another state, you will only be subject to taxation by the state you are actually a resident of. In your case, you only need pay PA income tax on the earnings.
