Pa state taxes

It says my state taxes are slot more than my federal. Is this correct ? I do get eic and cyc

    It is certainly possible. Pennsylvania's tax system is a lot different than the federal system. They do not have an earned income credit or child tax credit.

     

    You may also want to check the withholdings on any W-2s and that the state section in boxes 15-17 is correct. If your income is from other sources, you may not have paid any state taxes on it and have to pay taxes on it now. Pennsylvania employers usually withhold the exact right amount since it is a flat tax rate. Taxpayers may be eligible for the tax forgiveness credit depending on household income and household size.
