Question

PA Taxes

Hi, I submitted my tax forms and paid electronically, but I thought it said I needed to mail in signatures. Nothing prompted me at the end for this though. Is this true? If so, what do I need to mail (the whole return, just the signature page)?

Thanks!

You are in PA. Yes, PA requires you to print and sign the 8453 and keep it with your tax records, in case they ever ask for it.

Please see PA-8453- PA Department of Revenue which states:

Any taxpayer filing electronically from a home computer must keep the signed Form PA-8453 and supporting documents for three years after the due date of the return or the date the return was filed electronically, which-ever is later. Taxpayers must make the documents available to the PA Department of Revenue upon request. Do not mail Form PA-8453 and attachments to the PA Department of Revenue unless requested.
