Paid for my Iowa return it just says started. Now for 10 days. Does it take a while with state of Iowa?

Are you saying the efile status at the Tax Home screen only says "started?" Are you sure you actually submitted (efiled) it? Paying alone does not efile it. After paying you have to continue through the screens of the efile section until you click a big orange button "Transmit My Return Now." Then you should get an email that the return had been submitted. Then a later one about whether it was accepted or rejected.
