I do online work building websites for companies in Rhode Island and North Carolina but the work is actually performed in Texas. Do I own income tax in Rhode Island or North Carolina or only in Texas?

If you never physically worked within RI or NC during the tax year, then your remote income is not taxable by either state.

Texas of course has no income tax.
