Question

Part year resident non state income

From Jan-June of 2024 I was a resident of Maryland and July-Dec a resident of NY.  When filing part year resident Maryland and NY taxes, I noticed the following discrepancy between  turbotax for NY and MD.

Maryland turbotax asks a single question for non Maryland income, which I take to mean the income earned Jan-June and the interest allocated to the first 6 months of last year.

But the NY turbotax asks the non-NY earned income and interest separately.

Is this correct ?  Did I miss some prompts ?  just don't want to make a mistake

Yes, every state has different tax returns and filing requirements so each state has to be programmed to collect, calculate and report the income differently.
