I worked in New York from 1/1/2023-11/30/2023 and then in California December 2023. There's a section of my NY state return "part-year resident other allocations" that asks "tell us about your New York resident income". With the total full year income on W-2 as (hypothetically) $100,000. My NY W-2 has the entire income of say, $100K stated on the form, but in reality I was only there for 92% of the time so the NY portion of the income should be $91,667. For this section, do I input the full $100K or just the pro-rated NY portion?

If your New York sourced income only accounted for 11 months out of the year, you'd enter 11/12 * W-2 income on the part-year allocation screens. In your example, it would be $91,667.

This answer assumes that you are no longer a NYS resident and relocated to California for the 12th month. If you left NYS for a temporary purpose, then you would still be considered a NYS resident. Your New York domicile does not change until you can demonstrate that you have abandoned your New York domicile and established a new domicile outside New York State. For more information, see the instructions for Form IT-203.
