Pay state taxes on both W2 or only the one with info in boxes 15,16,&17?

I have two W2's. On one of them, the boxes 15,16,&17 are blank indicating no state taxes. The second W2 has boxes 15,16, &17 filled in. Do I need to pay states taxes on both W2's or only the one with info in boxes 15,16,&17?

Please provide some details.  Did you actually live or work in another state in 2022?   There are some states without a state income tax, so a W-2 for working in one of those states would be blank for boxes 15, 16 and 17.  Did you work for more than one employer in 2022?  What states did you live and/or work in?

I worked for two different employers. Normally I am based overseas but work for a state side non-profit organization. I still received salary from them and got my W2 from them with boxes 15,16,&17 blank as normal which I do not normally pay state taxes on that. However, I was in the USA for most of last year on an extended home assignment and I got a part-time job in the temporary residing state. The w2 for that job has info in boxes 15,16,&17. However, turbotax is adding the salary from both w2's into my state income tax instead of only the w2 with info in those boxes. Shouldn't it only add income into state that has info in boxes 15,16,&17? But it is adding all the salary from both w2's.

Never mind, I figured out that I needed to figure out my residence status to determine if I pay tax on all my income or just the income earned from sources in that state. Getting the residence status correct solved the problem.
