Why is my state tax still pending? I for got enter form 1098 how do I go about fixing this issue

You will have to wait until your return is either accepted or rejected to make any corrections.

If the return is rejected, you can simply log back into the program and make your changes are your return would not have been filed yet.

If the return is accepted, you will need to prepare an amended return.
