Preparing my 2019 State Returns

I completed my 2019 Federal Taxes using Turbo Tax. Now I need to complete my 2019 State Returns. How do I transfer my 2019 Federal Returns (PDF file) into my 2019 State Returns?

I assume you used the Online version? The only way is to download the 2019 tax file ending in .tax2019 and install the 2019 Desktop program to open it. Then continue through the state tab. But they will stop supporting and selling 2019 program around Oct. 16, 2023. You can't transfer a pdf file.

Save the tax file, pretend you want to amend 2019 using the Desktop program.

Or----get the paper forms from your state and prepare the state return by hand to mail in. You will need a copy of your 2019 federal return since there is information on it that you have to enter on the state return.
