Previous year errors

Hello,

I believe I might have found an error in my state returns from the 2018 tax year filed in 2019. Is there an option to have a tax expert look over previous returns instead of current returns? Is it even worth it since its past 3 years now?

Thanks

The "Live" experts do not review past year returns for you.  They only help with current year 2022 returns.   And....as you already seem to realize, it is too late to get an additional refund for a 2018 tax return.  If you think you might owe more to the state for 2018----you can take a look at it and pay more to the state.

I think that is where my problem is I'm not sure. I think I claimed income incorrectly, I worked in Kansas but lived in Missouri. I only realized it might be wrong because I'm in the same situation this year and realized I got all Kansas taxes back and then owe them to Missouri, minus the difference in the tax rate. Are there any other companies that help with old returns? if anything i think i would've gotten a larger return from Kansas and owed more to Missouri, i know i can't get the return from Kansas but if owed more to Missouri im not sure how to calculate that myself.

You will not be able to get a bigger refund.   Do you want to open the can of worms to pay more to the other state?
