Previous years' 529 carryforward doesn't show up in VA return

In last many years, the previous years' 529 carryforward showed up in VA state return automatically, I only needed to input past year's contribution. However, the carryforward from 2022 and before does not show up in my 2023 VA state return, even 529 account numbers disappeared. I installed TurboTax on PC, and TurboTax located my previous year's return on the same PC and transferred the info from, so there is no issue such as using different TurboTax account name.

Now I need to find previous years' carryforward and manually fill in. I looked 2022 VA return (the PDF file), but can't find the carryforward amount.

You need to look at the worksheets. There is a Deductions Stmt. Look for the VA 529 Plan Smart Worksheet. The last column shows the carryover. Locate this in your 2022 return by viewing all worksheets, not just the return.
