The 1099-R form is for retirement distributions.

If you had a 1099-R form, you will need to check your input under the Federal income section as follows:

    1. Select "Wages & Income"
    2. Scroll down to "all income"
    3. Select show more to the right of "Retirement Plans & Social Security"
    4. Select start/revisit to the right of "IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)"

Make sure you have a copy of your 1099-R(s) form(s) in front of you.

Go through all of the questions to ensure your entries are correct.  Follow through all of the interview questions on each screen.  Sometimes it is as simple as selecting yes to a question which can cause an issue.

If you did not have a 1099-R form at all, you will go through the steps listed above, but you will delete the 1099-R form if it does not apply.
