I have income from a California retirement pension. The pension is reported on a 1099-R and distribution code is 7.   I moved to PA in 2023 and reside here permanently.  Is this income taxable and what code do I use reporting it on the PA 40?  Your help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

PA does not tax retirement income.   Enter your 1099R into your federal return.   Information flows from the federal return to the state return.  The software will use the PA tax laws with the retirement income.

To enter your retirement income, Go to  Federal> Wages and Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA  401 k) Pension Plan Withdrawals to enter your 1099R.
