Should I be paying South Carolina State tax when I worked in Tennessee?

I worked in Tennessee a couple of months and they took out south Carolina State taxes should I be getting that back?

It depends on what your resident state is.  If you are a resident of South Carolina and were working temporarily in Tennessee, then yes you should be paying South Carolina on that income.  Your income, regardless of what state it was earned in is taxable by your resident state.
