Should I file a separate WV return if I (spouse) worked in WV but live in TN? Small income.

We filed a joint return as I have income in TN, however, TN does not have state tax.  My spouse worked very little in WV but received a 1099 for income in WV.  Can or should we file separate in WV with just her income?  Can we take deductions there if we file separately?

You should file a West Virginia Non-Resident Tax Return.

Only the income earned in the state will be subject to income tax.
