Question

Some RSUs vested while living in a different state. I can see this has been reported on my W2, but how do I fill the state taxes to reflect that?

Right now I can see the state where I got the RSUs (not where they vested) is set to give me a full refund on them, but that doesn't look right.

That could be right. Not being taxed - on income not from that state - can be correct. Alternatively, that means paying tax in the state where it was earned.

State laws are all so different. Many states do tax based on where the income was sourced. If the RSU giving state is one of those, you must pay taxes on the RSU in the state earned.

Would you like to reply with the state involved? Here is a link to all states so you check on filing requirements, if you like.
