I finished my federal taxes but had to wait to file my state. My federal was e-filed and accepted. I went back in 2 weeks later to just file my state but it wants to file my federal again. How do I go in and just file my state?

Yes, you can file your state return after your federal return has been accepted.  Here is a link with instructions (extracted below).

    1. On the Your 2023 federal return was accepted! page, open Your tax returns & documents, and then select 2023.
    2. Select Add a state to reopen your return.
      • Note: If you've already started your state return, you can select Continue your return in the state tax return box.
    3. Select State from the menu.
    4. On the Let's get your state taxes done right screen, select Continue and follow the instructions.

I did that but it bring me through all of the audit stuff, then dumps me to 'let's get ready to file your taxes'. When I hit continue to brings me to e-file my federal return.
