My daughter is full time student in State of Michigan. She is permanent resident of Michigan. She did three month internship in Washington State. She has no earning in state of Michigan. Does she need to pay income tax in state of Michigan and file Michigan state tax return

    Yes, she does because she is a Michigan resident. if Washington was an income tax state, she would have needed to file a Washington non-resident and Michigan resident tax return
