My original NY state tax return was rejected due to TT software problem. I can now refile. However, in the meantime, I received additional 1099B and now need to file an amended return. Can I file the amended NY in place of the original NY or do I have to file the original first, then do the amended?

File an original New York state return incorporating your 1099-B and file an amended federal tax return (if your federal was accepted).

An e-file reject means the original return was never filed with New York state. You can make changes before re-submitting.

If you federal return was accepted, then you will have to amend federal to add your 1099-B.
