State tax form?

I'm using the downloaded version of TT Deluxe.   It appears that this year TT is only allowing one State return per license, can that be correct?  In other words, when I click on my state and say "Start"  I get a message saying, "Your copy includes one free state return, do you want to use it?" It's my understanding that this version contains one free State to be e-filed. I should still be able to prepare the state return and print it, right?????

If you are using the CD/download you got the software to prepare returns for one specific state of your choosing.   The software to prepare the state returns was included.  You have to download the state software after selecting which state.    If you want to e-file the state returns you pay an extra fee of $20 to e-file the state.   If you want to avoid that $20 fee you can print, sign and mail the state return instead.  Go to File, and choose to Print, and then choose to print the state return.

Thanks for your response, can you claifiy something? When I begin the state return my state shows up (it imported info from last yr). I click the "start" option and I get a message that message I mentioned earlier. It asks me if I want to use the free state option and I select "no" . This takes me right back to the same screen again where the state is listed and it's asking if I want to use the free state return. Are you saying I need to download the state software ?? I haven't moved so I'm not changing the state from last yr.

If you are going to use the same state as you used last year, then say yes to the question.   The software does not know if you moved or want a different state unless you tell it.
