I prepared my Federal taxes online today. I worked on my state taxes as well, but there seemed to be a problem with the Turbo Tax calculations so I chose to file ONLY the Federal taxes. I double checked that ONLY the Federal Taxes box was checked. Twice. The state forms were not even complete.

A couple hours later I got an email that my Federal taxes were accepted by the IRS and my state taxes were "pending". WHAT????? I signed in to TT and sure enough, they submitted the incomplete state tax forms anyway. Mad as heck!!!!!!!!!!

The state may not accept them since they are incomplete. If they do accept them, you will have to file an amend return. For help, see how to file an amended return

I have not heard of an issue with that. I am so sorry.
