State Taxes in Alabama
I do some 1099 remote work from home. My state of residence is New York. The location of my employer is in Alabama. I work remotely as per the employer's request, not for my convenience. Do I have to file Alabama taxes?
If you never physically worked within Alabama, then you need not file an Alabama tax return. Your income is 100% taxable by New York.
