I paid the extra fee to have my Indiana state taxes e-Filed.   I thought that the taxes due to the state would be automatically with drawn from my checking account. But when I received the confirmation that my Indiana returns were accepted. Do I still need to mail in the voucher and the payment to the Indiana Dept. of Revenue?

What this means

All that's left to do is:

  • Mail in your tax payment along with your payment voucher.

Yes, it means you do need to make the tax payment, it was not set up as a direct debit.

In most states there is an option to pay your tax due by direct debit. The option comes up just prior to e-filing your return.

You can  use a check or money order and mail the payment in with your voucher, or you can pay your state taxes on line using Indianan's electronic payment  system.

Click here for that option. Use the center option for Non-bill Payments.
