I moved from CO to WA Sep 1, but my address was not updated till January 2024. W2 shows full 2023 income for CO taxes. Can I do anything to get the state income taxes back for Sep1-Dec31?

The W-2 shows what your employer already did, which was to send your tax that was withheld to Colorado, and the only way to get it back is to file a Colorado part-year return, so the state will send it back to you. Unfortunately, your employer can't undo this mistake.

In the Personal information section, indicate that you moved in September, then when you get to the Colorado return, I assume that the interview will ask you about a part-year return.

Let me know if that does not work.
