State Wages

I live in NJ and work for a company in PA (I am working from home in NJ though). On the taxable state wages page, it asks to check off the boxes that are duplicates. But the “example” section says check off boxes that are not listed as NJ (unless total income is split between states and taxable to NJ). The amounts in the two lines are not the same. Do I check off the box that says PA?

Check Remove These Wages next to the PA box if you are working in the New Jersey section so TurboTax won't tax you twice on your state income.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania are reciprocal states, meaning your employer should be withholding NJ tax not PA tax.

There should not be a PA line of your W-2 unless you have local tax withheld, such as Philadelphia wage tax. Those amounts would go on lines 18-20.
