Question

Supreme Court ruled choctaw nation in Mcgirt vs Oklahoma as a reservation. We now live and work on reservation. How do we reflect this on our tax return? Thanks.

In the Oklahoma interview in TurboTax, there will be a screen with the title of "Adjustments to Federal Income". About halfway down the list is "Member of an Indian tribe living and working on tribal land". Click Start.

On the next screen you can enter exempt income.

We are not lawyers, but the effect of McGirt vs Oklahoma appears mostly to expand what is defined as a reservation for any given tribe; otherwise the exemption process seems the same as in previous years.
