Tax Experts/Intuit employees: there is a defect on the Delaware Resident Schedule A-Itemized Deductions form

I think there is a defect on the Delaware RESIDENT SCHEDULE A - ITEMIZED DEDUCTIONS.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. I paid the Delaware estimated tax in the 4th quarter: $4,240
  2. Turbotax gave me the default date paid in the 4th quarter was Jan 15, 2021. Since I paid the 4th quarter estimated taxes on Dec 3, 2020, I changed the paid date to Dec 3, 2020. See the screenshot below.
  3. Look at the the value on the Line 5f that Turbotax generated on the RESIDENT SCHEDULE A - ITEMIZED DEDUCTIONS form.  The form clearly states that "Enter the smaller of Line 5e or $10,000", so the value is supposed to be $5037 (Line 5e number), but TT entered $6028.
  4. If I changed the paid date to the default date, Jan 15, 2021, the Line 5f had the correct number, $5037.

If you agree that this is a defect, please report it to Turbotax R&D for a quick fix. Thanks!

If you would be willing to share a diagnostic copy of your tax file, it could be helpful to examine the situation in more detail.

To do so, follow the instructions below and post the token number along with which version of TurboTax you are using in a follow-up thread.

Use these steps if you are using TurboTax Online:

    • Sign in to your account and be sure you are in your tax return.
    • Select Tax Tools in the menu to the left.
    • Select Tools.
    • Select Share my file with agent.
    • A pop-up message will appear, select OK to send the sanitized diagnostic copy to us.
    • Post the token number here.

If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use these steps:

    • Select Online at the top of the screen
    • Select Send Tax File to Agent.
    • Click OK.
    • Post the token number here.
