tax extension for NYS 2023

If you are using TurboTax Online, the program will automatically roll your 2022 tax information forward.  The desktop will give you the option to roll forward last year's return.  New York is one of the states that requires a separate extension be filed.  If you file with TurboTax, there’s a direct link to file your state extension when you go to complete your state return. Otherwise, download your state extension form by selecting your state from the list at: “How do I file an extension for my personal state taxes?” 

If you want to file a federal extension, the Free Federal Extension will be available in TurboTax in March.
