Question

Tax I paid to North Dakota on our W2 was not automatically entered

I couldn't understand at first why Turbotax thought I owed so much in state taxes when we normally get a small refund. I went through the actual forms and saw that the state tax info from our W2s was not entered.  Do I just enter it in manually and hope there aren't any other major mistakes with the program when I file? I did update right before starting the state portion.

Yep....just edit each of those forms and make sure boxes 15-thru 17 are correct.

    1)  Check ALL of the boxes in each W-2 and make sure they are right  (0.00 values are not entered..if you see any leave them blank)

    2) Never-ever trust a form import as a "do-it and forget it" operation.....always edit each after importing and confirm that all values have been entered correctly compared to your paper tax forms.   A garbled import isn't always picked up, and trusting the import to be flawless can be something you regret later
