Within the Tax Payment Worksheet for NY, my NY State tax withholding is being counted - with the same amount appearing at line 9 (From W-2) and line 13 (Other state tax withholding). As a result, TurboTax wants to give me refund in the amount of this wittholding. What could be causing the duplicate wittholding to show up on line 9 on this sheet and where can I go to correct this?
Are you using the Online version or the Desktop program? Check if you have another W2 entered.
Look around under
Federal Taxes (or Personal for H&B)
Deductions and Credits
Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
Other Income Taxes - Click the Start or Update button
Next page scroll down to bottom section Other Income Taxes Paid
Click Start or Update by Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099
