Do I need to mail the return form that I can print, to NYS in order to receive my state return through direct deposit first? or will it automatically deposit and then I can send part of that return?

it does say;

"Your New York state tax return (Form IT-201) shows you are due a

| refund of $x,xxx.xx. Your refund will be direct deposited into the | following account: Account Number: xxxx

You cannot mail an incomplete return. If you do, your return will not be processed. Also, the government will not receive your return if you do not e-filed your completed return. So, you will need to finish preparing your return and mail the complete return and choose the direct deposit option for your refund.
