Taxes paid to other state

I live in one state and work in another. My tax credit for the state I live in says I need to file the one I work in first to receive the credit. Can I file them at the same time, will I still receive the credit from the state I live in?

The message really means you need to prepare the nonresident state first (inside of Turbo Tax), so that the credit calculation flows to your resident state better. There are some 41 states with income tax, but I cannot imagine any force you to wait to file.

After you prepare your nonresident state, work on the resident. Yes, you should be able to file everything together.
