Tell us more about your 2023 Virginia income, has no option for I commuted from North Carolina or I lived in North Carolina all year.

Since you did not live in VA where you lived does not have any bearing on your VA taxes on income earned in VA.  Once you have completed your non-resident VA return you should take note of the income taxed by VA and the tax on that income.  

 

Those numbers will be used on your NC resident return to claim credit for the taxes paid to another state.  

 

In the NC interview when get to the credit questions TurboTax will help you claim that credit. Just follow the prompts to verify the numbers.
