The form asks where I lived on Dec 31 2016 but it has no option for a different country?
(I'm filing from abroad for the first time)
If you are a resident of a foreign country on 12/31/16 then in the Personal Info section for your name, in the dropdown for the resident state, scroll to the bottom of the list and select Foreign or US Possession. If you moved to the foreign country during 2016 from a US state then indicate that you lived in another state. Select the state where you lived and the date that you moved to the foreign country.
